Diva Three-Peat Winning 2009 Emmy Award
For the third year in a row, Diva has taken home an Emmy. Their documentary, Yearning to Belong, which chronicles the formal conversion of the Ugandan Abayudaya to Judaism, and the subsequent struggle for recognition as Jews, has won a 2009 Emmy Award.
The program, which aired on ABC syndicated television stations, was sponsored by The New York Board of Rabbis as part of the Interfaith Broadcasting Commission Series’ Visions and Values.
Diva Communications Inc., a Manhattan-based programming and production company specializing in the creation of video for broadcast, cable, and the Internet, had won a 2007 Emmy for And the Gates Opened and 2008 for The Eternal Light: A Historical Retrospective.
